I've spent my entire working life in some way linked to technology, minus about 18 months. It's been an amazing journey seeing various technology come and go.
I started in telephony, first with field service in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney fixing home and small business phone systems. hen I moved to exchange installation. I was lucky enough to be part of the first team on the Gold Coast to install one of the 3 new fully electronic exchanges in Queensland. I continued in this part of my career of installing exchanges in North Queensland. Mackay was my base and worked in Townsville, Proserpine, Cairns, Innisfail and Glenden. I was part of the team that built the town originally, doing the first exchange for Glenden.
After around 4 years, I moved to Brisbane which has been my home since 1986. I have had multiple jobs across technology and ultimately computing. Spending years building a variety of skills in databases, networking and system administration. Then moving those skills to the cloud. I am very much a generalist, building, designing and running this site as one of the many things I do. Having studied much about leadership and management, I see how the world routinely fails with mediocre leadership
I love the ocean, it's my happy place. When I have spare time, you'll find me somewhere near to it rejuvenating and re-energizing
